HS Choir Events/Activities

On Saturday, February 20, The Gilmer High School Choir students will be traveling to Marshall HS for the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest. We will be leaving from the HSmusic building promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Our assigned time slot is from 9:30-111:00 a.m., and we expect to return to the high school by 12:00 p.m.

Ten students of the GHS Choir participated in the All Region Tryouts in Mt. Pleasant, TX.

Six soloists placed in the All Region Choir.

Seniors:
Cori Beasley made 1st chair 1st Alto
David Chandler made 11th chair 2nd tenor
Carolynn Wuester made made 8th chair 2nd Soprano

Juniors:
Amber Burgett made 3rd chair 1st Soprano
Shelby Herndon made 2nd chair 1st Soprano

Sophomore:
Lyndze Duke made 8th chair 1st alto

The other students participating were, Mary Allen, Malachi Pyle, Dillon Perry & Samantha Payne. All of the students put in a lot of time & practicing for this competition, congratulations to you all on doing your best.

There were at least 65 or 80 students competing in each category, & only 16 are selected for each category, it is not an easy competition, we are proud of all who went & participated.

A big Thank You to Mr. Ricks & Mr. Marshall for their extra time & work they put in with our students.
